5 year old female Cross-Breed available for adoption

Ruby is a 5 year old female Cross-Breed. She was found roaming the streets in a terrible state. Now her fur is growing back we think she’s a mix of Shepherd and Collie, but she was so patchy and sparse when she was first rescued that we couldn’t tell what her coat was meant to look like. Her skin was inflamed, she was bald in many patches, and she was so itchy.

After all her treatment she’s made a fantastic recovery and is now ready to find her forever home. Ruby is estimated to be around five years old and is around 25kg. She is a fun loving, enthusiastic girl with lots of energy and love to provide to her new forever family. She loves meeting new people and is always elated to see the volunteers visiting to take the dogs out for walks, grooms and paddles in the pool.

Ruby particularly loves the water, and we therefore feel she would adore a home in a more rural location where there are rivers, streams or beaches to explore. She’d love to navigate the British countryside with her own family and would definitely have the stamina to keep up. Ruby has been really friendly towards all the other dogs that she is currently housed with, and she’s also been gentle when exposed to cats too.

Due to her active nature, she can be a bit bouncy and times and this in mind we would only recommend she is homed with very confident, dog savvy cats. Where children are concerned we feel Ruby would be best suited to a home with kids aged 8+, who would like to play outside with her and keep her busy! Ruby’s ideal home would be a semi-rural or rural environment where she has access to her own garden, nearby water to play in, and an active lifestyle.

She would benefit from some basic training, but is really eager to please so we think she would pick up new commands quickly. She needs more attention and focus than the shelter can offer her, and she will bloom once she finally finds a home to call her own. Ruby is currently based in Bosnia and has a clean bill of health. She is ready to travel once she finds her forever home.
