Dorie is a 6 month old female Cross-Breed. She was rescued as a stray with her sister and were unexpectedly offered a home in Bosnia. Unfortunately, they weren’t cut out for the commitment of a puppy, never mind two, and shortly after they returned them to the shelter asking the volunteers to find them new homes.
Dorie expected to grow to be a medium sized dog when she’s an adult. She is an active, intelligent and curious puppy who loves nothing more than being outside, running and playing. She loves people and other dogs, and always wants to make new friends.
She is very sociable with everyone and gets so excited when it’s time to go out for a walk or to play outside with the other dogs. Dorie is looking for a family who have a naturally energetic lifestyle. She would love to learn how to run alongside someone, or have the opportunity to explore the countryside on long hikes.
She has an active nature and could definitely keep up with an outdoorsy way of life. She would be best suited to a home based semi-rurally, and would definitely like access to her own secure garden. Dorie is very friendly and playful with children but can sometimes get overexcited and bouncy, so we would therefore suggest homes with children aged 8+ would be the most suitable for her.
With some training and continued socialisation, we think she’s going to do incredibly well as a companion, but she needs someone who can dedicate time to providing her with that focus, so that she learns what is expected of her.
Dorie could definitely live with other dogs but would prefer an active friend who would happily play with her. She’s not yet been tested with cats but might be a bit too boisterous with them. Dorie is currently based in Bosnia and has a clean bill of health. She is ready to travel once she finds her forever home.
